If you are a supporter of the fine arts and you respect and appreciate the sometimes unimaginable hours it takes to get prepare, create, market, & preform productions such as Up. Up. & Away, Celebration, & countless theater favorites you can imagine the magnitude of the tasks and as we know productions have expenses.
We must carefully allocate our budget for licensing fees related to scripts and vocal scores, in addition to the various expenses associated with orchestral materials. This not only covers the financial remuneration for key creative talents such as the director, music director, and choreographer, but also encompasses the entire production team, including stage designers, set designers, and costume designers, each of whom plays a crucial role in bringing the vision to fruition. Musicians generally expect a minimum fee of $50 per performance, a cost that can add up significantly over the course of a production. While many skilled individuals in community theater might volunteer their time and expertise, professional productions often carry a much heftier price tag, with some contributors earning upwards of $1,000 per week for their roles.
Furthermore, we need to factor in venue rental costs, which involve securing both performance spaces and rehearsal venues to ensure the cast and crew can prepare effectively. Front of House expenses—which include ticket sales, usher services, and security measures—can accumulate to thousands, depending on the duration and scale of the show. Additionally, Production Design & Materials will account for approximately 20-30% of the total budget, covering expenses for set construction, props, and costumes, all vital for effective visual storytelling. The rental of lighting and sound equipment adds yet another layer of costs that must not be overlooked. Finally, marketing costs for promotions typically start around $5,000, and obtaining liability insurance is essential to protect both the production team and the venue from unforeseen incidents, ensuring a smooth operation throughout the performances.
Our aim is to create a true Celebration of the Performing Arts and honor an instructor who has profoundly impacted many lives. Your support is greatly appreciated.
